SLFA President Babadi Kamara Champions Grassroots Development as He Launches Nationwide FIFA Football for Schools Ball Distribution
In a bold and inspiring display of leadership, the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), ๐๐๐๐๐๐ข ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐, today, Saturday November 15th, led the official launch of the ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐จ๐จ๐ญ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ (๐ ๐๐) ball distribution exercise at the SLFA Secretariat in Kingtom, Freetown. The initiative forms part of President Kamaraโs continued commitment to reviving grassroots football and strengthening the connection between education and the beautiful game.
The F4S programโ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฅ๐จ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ ๐ ๐๐ ๐โis designed to blend football with education, equipping children with life skills, confidence, and values through structured football-based learning. Under President Kamaraโs leadership, and in partnership with the Ministry of Sports and the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary School Education, Sierra Leone is embracing the program with renewed vigor to ensure football becomes a powerful tool for youth empowerment nationwide.
As part of the rollout, President Kamara announced the distribution of ๐๐,๐๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ ๐โ๐๐๐ข๐๐๐ฌ ๐๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ฆ๐ข๐ณ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐ข๐ณ๐ ๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ, specifically designed for young boys and girls. These balls will be delivered to๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ in every district, with each school receiving ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฌ, ensuring meaningful participation and access to quality equipment across all regions.

In his statement, President Babadi Kamara described the initiative as a โ๐ ๐๐ญ๐๐ฐ๐๐ฒ ๐ญ๐จ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐๐ซ๐ซ๐ ๐๐๐จ๐ง๐โ๐ฌ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ ๐ฅ๐๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ,โ emphasizing that strong football foundations in schools will produce stronger national teams. He encouraged pupils to make full use of the opportunity to develop both academically and athletically and reaffirmed that under his leadership, no young talent should go unnoticed. He further pledged that the SLFA Executive Committee will pursue funding to launch a well-organized nationwide school league for both boys and girls.
