Sierra Leone moved on to the Cup quarterfinals of the 2019 WAFU Cup of Nations with a 1-0 win vs. Liberia, after light issues delayed the end of the match by a day at the Stade Lat Dior in Thies, Senegal. Suffian Kalokoh broke the deadlock for the Leone Stars in the 40th minute with a volleyed effort. In the 71st minute the field was plunged into darkness after the floodlights failed, forcing the remaining minutes of the match to be finished the next day. Sierra Leone will play the winner of Mali vs. Niger in the Cup quarterfinals, while the Lone Stars will face the loser in the Plate.
