This is the second international friendly for a Sierra Leone women's team since the inception of women's football in the country in 1985. The first was a 0-0 draw in Freetown against Liberia to commemorate the International Women's Day in 2014.
The Sierra Leone Under 20 team progressed to the 2nd Rounds of the Africa qualifiers for the U-20 Women's World Cup 2018 in France after both Libya and Tunisia pulled out of the competition at the Preliminary and 1st Round stages respectively.
Sierra Leone will now face either Guinea or Cameroon in the 2nd Rounds of the qualifiers in November this year.
Guinea and Cameroon will play in the 1st Rounds in September for a spot in the 2nd Rounds of eight countries in which only two will make it to France 2018.
