The President of FIFA Gianni Infantino has today Friday 6th May 2022 expressed his “heartfelt condolences” to the Sierra Leone
Football family for the passing on of one of the country’s favorite football legends Lamin “Junior Tumbu” Conteh whose sad event took place on Thursday 5th May 2022.
In a letter addressed to the SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima, President Infantino described the former Sierra Leone national team captain as, “one of the greatest Leone Stars players, his personality, his loyalty and his human qualities will not be forgotten, and he will be truly missed”.
The letter further states that, “On behalf of the international football community, I wish to extend our deepest condolences to the Sierra Leone Football Association and most importantly to Lamin’s family, friends and loved ones.
May the soul of the departed rest in peace.
