Alusine Aiah Kabba Represents Sierra Leone at FIFA Guardians Safeguarding Workshop in England
Alusine Aiah Kabba, Protocol and Events Officer at the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), is currently in England attending a ten-day intensive residential workshop as part of the prestigious FIFA Guardians Safeguarding in Football Diploma Programme.
Bringing together participants from 72 countries across all continents, this global workshop is facilitated by some of the world’s leading safeguarding experts. It aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively respond to safeguarding concerns within football, manage such cases responsibly, and implement preventive measures to reduce future risks.
The workshop focuses on case management, a critical area in safeguarding practice, and is a key component of the broader 18-month FIFA Guardians online diploma programme. This diploma is fully funded by FIFA and delivered in partnership with The Open University in the United Kingdom. The programme is designed to build strong safeguarding frameworks across all FIFA Member Associations.
Notably, Mr. Kabba has been duly elected as Team Leader for all CAF (Confederation of African Football) participants in the programme—a position he has held throughout the two-year duration of the course, further highlighting his leadership and dedication to child protection and welfare in African football.
His participation in this workshop reflects SLFA’s growing commitment to safeguarding in football and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all involved in the game.
