The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association – *Mr. Thomas Daddy Brima,* who together with his Executive Committee arrived late in the evening yesterday, has this morning motivated and inspired the team to qualify the nation for the 2021 AFCON Finals. The President reminds the players and technical staff of the task ahead and the opportunity this qualification will bring.*

“There’s absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t qualify this nation. It’s about Sierra Leone, and winning this game will change the narrative of football in Sierra Leone.”*

*President Daddy Brima made this statement in the presence of his entire Executive Committee Members, Minister of Sports *Ibrahim Nyelenkeh,* Executive Director of Sports *Dr. Kenneth Brima* and the Deputy Ambassador to the Republic of Guinea- *H. E. Hamid Taal.

Meanwhile, the former President of SLFA, current *FIFA Council Member and CAF Executive Committee Member- Madam Isha Johansen* also encourages and inspires the team to success in a letter read on her behalf this morning.*

The Leone Stars Captain – Umaru Zengaylay Bangura expresses the team’s determination to qualify the nation. *”We know why we are here, we have worked so hard, we will get the result we want,”* he stated.

Sierra Leone will host Benin today at the General Lansana Conte Stadium in Conakry at 4PM in a crucial decider to get a second qualifier in Group L.

In another development, the SLFA President Thomas Daddy Brima paid a courtesy visit to the Guinean FA President – Antonio Souare, where the host FA President who doubles as the President of the WAFU Zone A, wishes the Leone Stars delegation well against Benin. He further informs the Sierra Leone FA delegation that 7 out of 8 nations in his region (WAFU Zone A) have qualified for the *TOTAL ENERGIES AFRICA CUP OF NATION, CAMEROON 2021.* Mr. Souare anticipates Sierra Leone’s qualification to join the other 7 nations from Zone A.
