Sierra Leone Football Officials Provide Technical Support Across Africa

In the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone A Under-17 Tournament in Senegal, five Sierra Leoneans are giving technical support to an international football tournament for the very first time.

Christopher Abdul Kamara, was appointed recently to serve as a chairman for the WAFU Zone A Disciplinary Committee.

Mohamed Bowen Freeman has also been appointed the Competition Security Officer.

Swahib Bangura is a Central Referee.

Ibrahim Bah is the Assistant Referee.

And Alhaji Sanusie Rashid is serving as the Referees’ Instructor and Assessor.

All of the aforementioned names are acting variously in the ongoing U-17 Competition in Thies- Senegal.

This is the very first time Sierra Leone is providing such a number in a WAFU Competition.

The 2021 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) U- 17 Tournament will end on February 13th 2021, and Senegal, the host nation, will play against Mali in the final.

In another development Referee Michael Conteh will be representing Sierra Leone in the upcoming Confederation of Africa Football(CAF) Tournament to be hosted in Mauritania. This is also the first time a Sierra Leonean referee will have to officiate a match in a Nations Cup.

Referee Michael Conteh will depart Sierra Leone for Mauritania, the host Nation, today.

The Acting Chairman of the Eastern Region Football Association Prince Kei Squee has also been appointed as the Match Commissioner for a match in the Africa Confederation Cup between Asante Kotoko Sc and ES Setif.
