The President of the Sierra Leone Football Association Madam Isha Johansen has today bid farewell to the Liberia female football delegation at the end the five-day female football friendly festival between SLFA and LFA in both Makeni and Bo. In a brief statement before the last match in Makeni between Mamoud FC and Liberia ‘A’ Team kicked off, Johansen thanked the Liberian players and officials for collaborating with SLFA in raising the standard of female football in both countries. Accompanying the SLFA President to watch the final match in Makeni today was the SLFA Vice President 2 *Mr. Ali ‘Commoner’ Kargbo,* the Northern Regional FA Chairman *Mr. Brima Jalloh* and Ex-Officio *Mr. Ali Badara Tarawallie* and *Mr. Harold Nat-Johnson* who doubles as the Chairman of the SLFA Female Football Committee. President Johansen gave an added boost to both teams reminding them that they are a new generation of African women breaking barriers and succeeding against the odds. *“Don’t be a victim just because you’re a woman be a leader because you’re a woman.”* She ended by reminding both teams that their respective countries are twin sisters referring to the shared trials of the war and Ebola. *”It is important therefore that we share that responsibility of celebrating each other.”* Johansen said. The five-day friendly campaign started on Wednesday the 18th December 2019 with a 2-2 draw between Sierra Queens and the Liberia ‘A’ Team in Makeni and a 2-0 win by Sierra Leone U20 over their Liberian counterpart in Bo. On match day two (20th December) the Liberian ‘A’ Team defeated Rising Queens by a whooping 0-8 in Makeni whiles Mogbemo Queens suffered a defeat to the Liberian U20 side in Bo. The final day today was a great success for the visitors with their U20 defeating Kahula Queens by 0-5 in Bo and a 1-5 win for the Senior category. SLFA is preparing a return leg in Monrovia ahead of the WAFU female tournament which has been rescheduled to end of March 2020.
