The team arrived on Monday, February 24, and completed their mission today, Friday, February 28, following a comprehensive assessment of various FIFA-supported projects.
During their visit, the officials inspected newly constructed artificial turf pitches at key football development sites, including the SLFA Academy and Approved School in Freetown, Bo Coronation Field, and Port Loko Town Field. These pitches are part of FIFAโs ongoing efforts to enhance football infrastructure in Sierra Leone and provide quality playing surfaces for players at all levels.
In addition to pitch inspections, the delegation assessed the status of newly procured transport assets, including mini-buses and a 36-seater customized team bus for the countryโs male and female national teams. These vehicles, expected to arrive soon, will significantly improve mobility and logistical support for Sierra Leonean football.
Following the successful evaluation, the FIFA representatives expressed their satisfaction with the remarkable progress made by the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) under the leadership of ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ง๐ต๐ผ๐บ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐บ๐ฎ. In a debriefing session with the SLFA President and his Executive Committee, Madame Fatou Camara commended the federation for its dedication to executing FIFA projects efficiently. She reaffirmed FIFAโs commitment to supporting Sierra Leoneโs football development and announced the availability of additional funding for more infrastructure projects, including new pitches, motorbikes, and other essential facilities to advance the game.
President Brima, in response, extended his gratitude to FIFA for its continued support, emphasizing the federationโs commitment to maintaining transparency and accountability in project implementation. He acknowledged that FIFAโs contributions significantly complement the Sierra Leone governmentโs efforts to develop sports in the country. He assured FIFA officials that the SLFA would continue working diligently to ensure the smooth execution of all projects in alignment with FIFAโs policies and standards.
