Sierra Leone's Head Coach Optimistic over Nigeria Show down

Head Coach of the Sierra Leone's home based squad, Abu Bakarr Kamara (Tostao) has expressed high hopes of winning against Nigeria in the knock out stages of this year's West Africa Football Union (WAFU) tournament, when the two sides meet on Monday evening at the Malima Stadium in Cape Coast, Ghana.
"I know Its going to be a tough encounter but I'm confident that we will come out of the match with our heads raised up. I have faith in my boys and I'm convinced they would be able to implement the tactics we've learnt over the past few weeks," coach Tostao said.
The former Sierra Leone international skipper disclosed that the team is in high spirit and well motivated in camp as team discipline continues to rise.

"My boys are mentally discipline and highly motivated. Winning this match is key to the revival of our local based Leone Stars and I'm sure it will also bring joy and unity back home," Tostao added.

When asked how much he knew about his opponent, the former skipper said he has great respect for the Nigerian football league, which he has been following since the country was drawn against them.

He noted that they have got talents and can assemble a good squad taking into consideration their unique history in continental competitions.

"Despite the fact that Nigeria has got a competitive league and has quality players, I'm optimistic that my boys will be a hard nut to crack," he said.

Sierra Leone and Nigeria were slated to play in the second match on opening day (Saturday September 9) but the opening ceremony has been shifted to Monday September 11, due to late arrival of other countries including Nigeria.

Sierra Leone's 25-man delegation left Freetown on Wednesday evening on board the Kenya Airways flight and landed in Accra at about 8:30 pm. They were taken by bus to Takoradi and currently staying at the Kingstel Hotel.
