Sierra Leone Premier League Board Announces New Resolutions

Following the commencement of the 2018-19 Sierra Leone Premier League, 13 Premier League Clubs, on Thursday 1st November, 2018, met with the newly constituted Sierra Leone Premier League Board as a show of commitment to kick start the long anticipated Sierra Leone Premier League.

After fruitful deliberations of pertinent issues relating to a professional implementation of rules and regulations, club license, technical and match officiating, the clubs therefore agreed to incrementally implement the 2012 Hotel Bamoi Declaration that seeks to improve football governance in Sierra Leone.

In a bid to organize and run a well-structured professional Premier League, the Premier League Clubs further agreed to implement the following resolutions that:

All premier league clubs are to be incorporated and run as a company under the laws of Sierra Leone.

All Premier League clubs shall register a verifiable executive/management to run their affairs.

All clubs must hire the services of a license A coach to manage/coach them.

All clubs shall enter a contractual agreement with their players thereby abiding to various labour laws in Sierra Leone.

All clubs shall have a verifiable bank account with a reputable commercial bank in Sierra Leone.

All clubs shall endeavor to establish a youth team that will help in the development of young players.

*NOTE:* The meeting agreed to schedule the commencement of the league for first week December 2018, as the Premier League Board is currently engaged in a robust fund raising campaign from Government of Sierra Leone and private corperate entities.
