FOX Media Network Group Signs Africa West Zone Partnership

SLFA President, Madam Isha Johansen is part of a historical signing agreement between FOX MEDIA NETWORK GROUP (FMG) and Africa Zonal Union currently taking place in Dakar Senegal.

Fox Media Group Executive Vice President, Frank Rutten announced an initial 12- year sponsorship agreement with West Africa Football Union with an option for another 12 years increase.

According to the sponsorship package, a two Million United States Dollars would be provided biannually to WAFU for the organization of all tournaments both in the men and women’s competitions but other expenses such as air tickets for participating teams and appearance fees would be provided by Fox Media.

WAFU will also have the opportunity to conduct workshops and seminars bi-annually with all expenses provided by Fox Media.

The sponsorship package will commence in 2017 and a Zonal tournament organized in the summer of 2017 by the two zones that made up the West zone. All matches will be shown live by the sponsors to give mileage to local talents in the west of the continent.

"There is a bigger picture to this collaboration. Upcoming talents can now share the same global visibility platform as their international football idols. Local players can be scouted on screens, but most of all, participating in the zonal competitions will be in hot pursuit thereby raising the bar and raising the game. I foresee the start of a very promising future ahead," Isha Johansen said at the signing ceremony.
