Sierra Leone National Premier League

The SLPL is the elite football league in Sierra Leone with a total of fourteen teams nationwide.

The teams are drawn from the capital city Freetown and other regional headquarter towns through a play-off system from the second tier league (division one).

Teams play twenty six matches each in the two round league, hosting matches on a home and away basis.

At the end of the season the two worse performers are relegated to the second tier in their respective regions and the top teams from the various regions battle it out in a nationwide play-off for the vacant spots in the elite league.

Also, the top two performers i.e. the winner and runner up, represents Sierra Leone in the Confederations of African Football (CAF) hosted Champions League and Confederations Cup.
